Now, I'm not sure how I put this one delicately so I won't even try. One of the biggest dilemmas when cycling in a group is how to get rid of snot, especially in this cold weather when its going to even more of an issue. Do you use your gloves or learn the one finger on the nostril trick and just hope you don't hit someone behind you?
Luckily, I've found these three little nuggets of advice on snot ettiquette....
If you are in the middle of the peleton - signal, then swing out of the line, blow and resume your position.
If you are at the back of the pack - snuff out the snot with abandon
Anywhere else in the peleton - rather than hurl snot over your should, shoot it down between your bent arm and thigh. If you are travelling at speed when its quite likely your nasal discharge could plaster the rider behind you, try slipping it between your pumping thigh and top tube of your bike. Okay you may splatter your quads, but better you than your teammates behind you!
