About Lisa

Lisa biog pic from EG regional awards Jun 09.jpgAs Midlands' editor I've got a large swathe of the UK as my patch, so I'm regularly out and about in Birmingham, Nottingham, Coventry and Derby plus many points inbetween. Modern technology means my office is where my Blackberry is (!) though technically I work from my home office in North Oxfordshire and EG's office in Birmingham.

A bit of a property veteran, I joined EG in London in the mid-90s when the industry was picking itself up from the crash at the start of the decade. I've worked on both news and features and was around in the early days of EGi - when many people questioned whether there was really demand for internet news!

It's been fascinating to see the industry develop and the way people within the industry communicate. New media is certainly now being well embraced by a new generation of property professionals, which is great to see, but the importance of face to face contact within the industry should never be forgotten, which is why I make it my business to see individuals personally whenever I can.

Outside of work I'm a traveller at heart. I've visited places as diverse as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Lapland, New York, Hawaii and Australia (my spiritual home, where I spent a year working). Since I relocated out of London with my husband five years ago my travelling has been more 'virtual', though I still criss-cross the UK for EG - I don't think there are many major cities or UK islands I haven't been to now!

By the way this is me presenting an EG award, not receiving it!

I understand EG may be planning a feature on Nottingham. I'd be interested in finding out what the thrust of this was and to see if we could provide any input from a local authority perspective.

Hi Stephen, the East Midlands Offices and Retail Focus is published tomorrow. Within this feature we do look at the Nottingham market. We tend to work a few weeks in advance of the publication date so unfortunately the deadline for this has gone. However, we have another East Midlands feature published on 1st May 2010. If you would like to get involved in this please feel free to either email me on lisa.pilkington@rbi.co.uk or telephone 07771 673458. I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for your interest.
