MIPIM: Day 2 Draws To A Close

| No TrackBacks
The sun has set on the second day at MIPIM, a day when the event is in full swing. Everyone is talking about the dramatic drop in numbers and how much more "serious" everyone is. There is no need for the French police to marshall the crossings in front of the Palais and there certainly seem to be more locals promenading along the sea front without fear of being bowled over by a besuited MIPIM delegate rushing to an appointment, Blackberry attached to ear.

Tonight is Goodman's drinks - an event that in previous years became synonymous with faded 80s bands whose music lured people onto the dancefloor who probably haven't thrown a move since a cousin's wedding in '93. This year there has been no talk of a band and the drinks have been moved to the Eden Hotel into an early evening slot. Presumably everyone will be to busy being serious to have a bit of a boogie.
