Lower Lee Valley Park Authority has crucial Olympics job

eatonmanor.jpgThe Olympic Delivery Authority has been granted planning permission for Eton Manor, the proposed venue for Olympic and Paralympic swimmers training during the 2012 Games.

Images of the venues at the site, which forms part of the 500-acre Olympic Park in the Lower Lea Valley in east London, can be viewed here.

I spoke recently to Shaun Dawson, chief executive of the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, the quango that will own, operate and fund the facilities as a hockey and tennis centre post Games and he has plenty of interesting things to say about how the Olympic Park Legacy Company can successfully animate the Olympic Park in legacy.

Don't be surprised if the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority ends up with a big job managing the Olympic Park and in particular helping to locate operators for the key venues.
