People

Chris Thomas has joined retail consultancy Macarthur Wilson as a director, based in Bristol. He was formerly an equity partner at Hartnell Taylor Cook (0117 908 3350).

Smiths Gore has recruited John Coleman to lead and develop estate agency in Scotland. He joins from Knight Frank (0131 561 71303).

CB Richard Ellis has appointed John Shaw as associate director in the firm’s retail valuation team. He joins from Donaldson (020 7182 2000).

GVA has appointed Edward Dry as director in the corporate recovery team. He joins from Sanderson Weatherall, where he was an executive director and board member (0161 956 4423).

Spencer Holdings has appointed Andrew Farrer as property asset management surveyor to work on the group’s national industrial portfolio (0151 545 2500).

Savills has appointed Jeremy Kingston (020 7409 8909) and Richard May (020 7409 5949) to the national building and project consultancy team. They join from Knight Frank and Waitrose respectively.

Jones Lang LaSalle has appointed Paul Murray as a senior surveyor in the property and asset management team in Manchester. He joins from GVA Grimley (0161 828 6451).

Watson Burton partner and national head of real estate Simon Scougall is joining Bellway, one of the law firm’s longest-standing clients. He will fill a newly created senior commercial role (0845 901 2067).

Manchester-based Ask Developments has appointed Jamie Hills as development executive. He joins from MCR Property (0844 800 3335).

Law firm Irwin Mitchell has appointed commercial property lawyer Paul Firth. He joins from DLA Piper, where he worked for 14 years (0870 1500100).

Jonathan Kennedy and Jonathan Fisher have joined agency Kingsbridge. Kennedy joins as director of land and development, while Fisher will establish West End and City office agency (0207 467 3810).

Adeo Construction Consultants has appointed Kevin Matthews to head up its post-contract service. He joins from Mace (01403 821770).

Rural property consultancy Smiths Gore has appointed Dan Coston as head of architecture, building and surveying at its Peterborough office. He joins from King Sturge (01733 559317).

Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell has appointed Craig Powell as associate director, expanding the commercial property consultancy team (023 9237 7800).

Jean Dent has joined regeneration and housing specialist Eye as an associate director. She recently retired from her post of city development director for Leeds city council (07702 862657).
