People

Central London property adviser EA Shaw has appointed Nicola Warren as residential property manager. She has more than five years-experience in this area and joins from UK Real Estate (020 7240 2255).

Estate agent Marsh & Parsons has appointed Michael Baulk, former chairman of advertising agency AMV, as non-executive chairman. He is current chairman of The Mill Group (020 7208 8178).

Colliers International has appointed Nick Pentecost as an associate director in the central London office agency team. He formerly worked for Kinney Green (020 7344 6772).

Knight Frank has appointed Simon Matley to its building surveying team in Manchester. He previously worked for WHR Property Consultants and Savills (0161 833 0023).

Dan Hildyard, Claire Dutton and Will Machin have been made directors at retail agency Harper Dennis Hobbs (020 7462 9100).

Jimmy McWilliams has joined Faircroft Real Estate as an asset manager based in the London office. He previously worked for Sorbon Investments and Vail Williams (020 7499 5432).

The Connells Group has appointed Jon Evans divisional managing director for its new estate agency sales centre. He will be responsible for setting up the group’s first centralised sales centre (01525 218500).

JHWalter has made new appointments at its Lincoln practice. Mark Coulman (01522 504302) will lead the business consultancy team. Steve Catney (01522 504359) has been appointed partner and James Mulhall (01522 504318) has been promoted to associate.

Harrods Estates has appointed Grace Musson as property manager at its Mayfair office. She joined Harrods in February 2011 (020 7409 9299).

Assetz has appointed Ann Lever to head up its new homes division. She previously worked for Barratt Homes, Miller Homes and Countryside Properties (0845 430 4900).

Alder King has made new appointments in the South West. In the Bristol office Christian Robb (0117 317 1047) has been made an associate,and Andrea Fuidge (0117 317 1050) joins the asset recovery team. Lee Southan has been made a negotiator in the Exeter office (01392 353080), while Tom Duncan will be heading up the agency function in the Truro office (01872 227005).

Davis Tate has made Claire Tier group sales manager. In the Twyford office Daniel Ashton has been promoted to branch manager and Geraldine Burgess has been made office negotiator. In Reading Daniel Gunningham has been made senior lettings sales negotiator and Georgie Wilman has been promoted to assistant manager, while Vicki Anderson has joined as sales and lettings negotiator in the Burghfield Common office (01491 412345)

Savills has expanded its national development team with the appointment of Stephen Tully as a director. He has more than 25 years experience and previously worked at PRUPIM and MEPC (020 7409 8812).

Retirement

Mike Carter will retire from his role as chief executive at LionHeart, the chartered surveyors’ benevolent fund, in August after 20 years in the post.

Obituary

John B Sunley, one of the founding trustees of the Bernard Sunley Charitable Foundation, and its chairman since 1989, died on 14 February after a short illness.

Start-ups

Residential property surveyor Catherine Moane has set up Cityside Residential, specialising in residential lettings and property management. The new business will be based at SCEDU Business Centre, Unit 18, Mowbray Street, Sheffield, South Yorkshire S3 8EN (0114 272 2729).

Paul Sutcliffe and Ed Gabbitas have joined former DTZ employee Chris Bennett's Sustainable Commercial Solutions , a new venture delivering environmental solutions to the real estate industry. It is based at 3 Saxon Croft, Farnham, Surrey GU9 7QB.
