Has the London residential market hit its peak?

There were more than 52,000 new homes being built in London by the end of last year, but starts are slowing potentially leaving developers with too much stock on their hands.

That is the finding from EG’s latest LOREMA report tracking the London housing development market, recording applications, permissions, construction starts, completions and under-construction units.

It states that while the number of units under construction are at the highest level for more than a decade, it is construction starts that really show the health of the sector. And with the difference between 2015 and 2016 being a mere 249 units, the sector may be about to catch a cold.
